Parentica

Terms of Use

Last updated: November 2026 · Consumer subscription

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form an agreement between you, as a private individual, and Parentica ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Sweden, and govern your use of the Parentica Individual app and website ("the Service"). By creating an account and starting a subscription you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.

Nothing in these Terms limits the mandatory rights you have as a consumer under Swedish or EU consumer law, including the right of withdrawal described in Section 5.

2. What the Service is

Parentica is a personal, subscription-based app that offers research-backed courses, audio ebooks, daily reflections and an AI assistant called Pari, with guidance adapted to the life stage you tell us you are in. Your subscription is for one person, for personal use. The Service is not provided through an employer, a school or any other organisation, and no third party receives reports about your activity.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to subscribe. You agree to give accurate account information and to keep it up to date, since we use your email address to reach you about your subscription.

4. Price, billing and renewal

  • Price: the current price for the monthly and annual plans is always shown in the app before you subscribe, including VAT where applicable. The amount you accept at checkout is the amount you pay.
  • Renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or annually, at the price you accepted, until you cancel.
  • Payment: payments are handled securely by our payment provider. We never see or store your card details.
  • Cancelling: you can cancel at any time in Settings. Your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and the subscription then stops without further charge.
  • Price changes: if we change the price, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies and you may cancel before the new price takes effect.
  • Free or trial access: where we offer a free trial or promotional period, the length and any conditions are shown when you start it, and payment details are only charged as described there.

5. Your right of withdrawal (14 days)

As a consumer in the EU/EEA you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of the day it starts, without giving a reason. To withdraw, email info@parentica.app or use the contact details in Section 16 before the 14 days have passed, and we will refund the amount you paid within 14 days of your notice, using the same payment method.

Because the Service is digital and available immediately, you are asked when you subscribe to consent to access starting straight away and to acknowledge that the withdrawal right ends once the digital content has been fully delivered. If you withdraw after having used the Service substantially, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the part already supplied; if you have not used it, you get a full refund. This does not affect your statutory rights if the Service is faulty.

6. Cancelling and closing your account

You can cancel your subscription at any time in Settings, and you can ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time, either in Settings or by email. After deletion your certificates, progress and conversation history cannot be recovered. We may also close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms, as described in Section 8.

7. Your account and security

Your account is personal to you and may not be shared, transferred or resold. Keep your password confidential and tell us promptly at info@parentica.app if you suspect someone else has access. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, unless it results from our own failure to keep the Service secure.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent or infringing purpose.
  • Attempt to access systems, data or accounts that are not yours.
  • Share, transfer or sell your login details or subscription access.
  • Copy, record, screenshot, download, redistribute or resell course content, media or materials without our written permission.
  • Upload malware, scrape the Service, overload it or otherwise interfere with its operation.
  • Use the Service to harass another person or to submit false, misleading or defamatory information.

All content in the Service is protected by copyright. Unauthorised copying or distribution is prohibited and may lead to the account being closed and to legal action.

9. Our content and intellectual property

We, and the specialists and creators we license content from, own all rights in the Service: courses, videos, audio, ebooks, worksheets, illustrations, texts, the app itself and its design. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to view that content inside the app for your own private use. No other rights are granted. Course media carries a personalised watermark so that the source of any unauthorised sharing can be identified.

Content you create yourself, such as your messages to Pari, reviews and topic requests, remains yours. You give us the limited permission needed to store it, display it back to you and operate the Service.

10. Pari, the AI assistant: limits and safety

Pari offers general education, reflection and practical suggestions. It is not a doctor, psychologist, therapist, lawyer or financial adviser, and using the Service does not create any clinical or professional relationship. Pari's answers can be incomplete or wrong, and must not be used as a substitute for professional advice suited to your situation.

The Service is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in danger, in a medical or mental health emergency, or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately rather than relying on the app.

11. Availability and changes to the Service

We work to keep the Service available and to improve it. We may update, add or remove features, and we may occasionally need to interrupt access for maintenance. If we make a significant change that materially reduces what your subscription includes, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel with effect from that change. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and refund any period you have paid for but not received.

12. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for providing the Service with reasonable skill and care. We are liable for direct loss you suffer as a result of our breach of these Terms, but not for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, lost opportunity or loss of goodwill. Where liability may lawfully be limited, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, for defective digital content where mandatory consumer law applies, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Data protection and privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: your data is stored and processed within the EU/EEA, we are the data controller, we do not sell your data, we do not share your activity with any employer or third party, and you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection at any time by writing to privacy@parentica.app.

14. Complaints and dispute resolution

If something is wrong, contact us first at info@parentica.app and we will try to put it right quickly. If we cannot agree, you can bring the matter to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN) or to the consumer authority in your own country. Consumers in the EU can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. None of this prevents you from going to court.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. As a consumer you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country or in Sweden.

16. Changes to these Terms and contact

We may update these Terms as the Service or the law develops. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version, and we will tell you about material changes by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect; if you do not accept them, you can cancel before then.
